Obesity is a medical condition characterized by excessive accumulation of body fat, which can adversely affect health. It is commonly measured using the Body Mass Index (BMI), a ratio of weight to height. 

Types of Obesity

Class 1 (Moderate Obesity)

BMI: 30-34.9

Class 2 (Severe Obesity)

BMI: 35-39.9

Class 3 (Very Severe or Morbid Obesity)

BMI: 40 and above

Diagnosis and Test Results

Blood pressure is measured using a cuff and a gauge. The following results indicate various blood pressure categories: 

    • Calculation: weight (kg) / height (m²) 
    • Overweight: BMI 25-29.9 
    • Obese: BMI 30 and above 
    • Men: Greater than 40 inches
    • Women: Greater than 35 inches 
    • Measurement of fat using calipers at various body sites 
    • Lipid Profile: Elevated cholesterol and triglycerides 
    • Blood Glucose: Elevated fasting blood sugar levels indicating diabetes or prediabetes 
    • Liver Function Tests: Elevated liver enzymes indicating fatty liver disease
