Avascular Necrosis (AVN)

Avascular Necrosis (AVN), also known as osteonecrosis, is a condition that occurs when there is a loss of blood to the bone tissue, leading to bone death. If left untreated, the bone can collapse, and the joint surface may break down, causing severe arthritis.

Types of AVN

Traumatic AVN:

Caused by physical injury or trauma to the bone, such as fractures or dislocations.

Non-traumatic AVN

Occurs without any injury, often associated with conditions like long-term steroid use, excessive alcohol consumption, certain diseases (e.g., lupus, sickle cell anemia), or other medical treatments.

Ayurveda Treatments

Ayurveda aims to manage symptoms and improve quality of life through natural remedies and holistic approaches:
Ayurveda treatments should complement conventional medical treatments, not replace them, especially for serious conditions like AVN. Always consult with a healthcare professional before starting any new treatment.
